| St. Mary's School, animated by the Spirit of Jesus is committed to
the Catholic education of children, in grades Pre-K 3 through Grade 8. We

Art Department The Art Department at St. Mary's is a disciplined-based educational program for grades Pre-K3 - 6th. This year, we are engaging the children in an elective style program. This allows those that are interested in the Fine Arts and the advanced styles and techniques to work together. Throughout the year, children will be instructed in projects that focus on Art History, Art criticism, Art production and Aesthetics. There will be projects that are related to the current curriculum, which are on going in their homerooms. We will be working very hard this year to get our young artists out into the community, getting their work seen and recognized. Last year, we had several winning pieces in the school art shows, as well as the community art shows. This is to let you know that our school has teamed up with Original Works once again- the #1 art based program in the country - to off a very special program that allows you to have your child's very own artwork reproduced into a number of professional, full color products. It will be our third year joining Original Work, hoping to have several opportunities throughout the year offering these products. Your child will be creating their artwork in school, using the regular art curriculum as the basis for their work of art. You will then have the opportunity to order a variety of products with your child's own artwork featured on each and every product. We are thrilled to be participating in this innovative program once again. Look for complete program, product and pricing information coming soon. What fun!!!!
Music Department The music curriculum is Music Play. This is taught to children in Kindergarten - 6th grade. Music Play is in use in more than 2000 schools internationally. Music Play is a play based music program, each week features a new game from which the musical concepts in the curriculum are taught. Music Play supports and enhances science, social studies, and language arts curriculum. Along with this program, children will be taught how to read music, and play the recorder (4th). This enables the children to readily play other instruments. At the end of the school year, some of the younger grades began to put some of their favorite songs to action, allowing them to discover the inner characters they were blessed with - talk about colorful!!!!
