PRE-K UPDATE May 26-30, 2008 Dear Parents, As our school year draws near its end, our classroom has been very busy! Although our pre-reading curriculum was finished last week, the children continued to practice penmanship this week by writing numerals 1-10, and enjoyed activities involving shapes and patterning each morning. They also enjoyed preparing for the “Father’s Day Fiesta,” which was held on Wednesday. A great time was had by all! We also began practicing for our graduation ceremony to be held on Wednesday, June 4th, at 10:00 a.m. On Thursday, our class enjoyed a final morning visit with their 5th grade buddies to help assemble the alphabet books they have worked on together this year. We also enjoyed watching the 8th grade’s annual play performance on Thursday. On Friday morning, a special religion workbook activity was followed by creating a special “zoo animal” snack, and show-and-tell time. The children enjoyed a special bingo game to end their week. In the week to come, time will be spent giving a final review of alphabet letters, high-frequency words, numbers, and shapes. Our art and literature theme will look towards summer days as we celebrate the ocean and beach. Here’s a preview of our week to come:
