St. Maurice

St. Maurice was  a Captain in the Roman army. He was born in Thebes, Egypt in the third century. He was killed by Emperor Maximian because he refused to kill fellow Christians. He died in 28B.C.. at Agaunum, Switzerland. He was made a patron saint of armies and sword smiths. His feast days are September 22^nd in the West and October 5^th in the East. His shrine is the Cathedral of Magdeburg.
