St. Forian

St. Florian is the Patron Saint for firefighters, Poland, and Austria. St. Florian was born in Austria in 250 A.D. He became a Roman soldier in the army on May 4, which is his feast day now. St. Forian's Emperor liked him because he could solve problems with other people. The Emperor wanted St. Florian to say he was not Christian, and when he would not he was called a “Martyr”. St. Florian as a soldier was told to destroy the Christian churches and jobs . He would not and refused to “sacrifice anyone to the Roman" gods”. For refusing to do this they said he would be put to death. They were not able to get the fire to set St. Florian on fire so they had to drown him in a river first. From then on he became known as the protector or every firefighter all over the world. Today his body is in a church in Krakow, Poland. It was said that after the World Trade Center Bombing ,it was St. Florian who was responsible for saving the 5 firefighters who were trapped for 8 hours surrounded on all 4 sides by fire. Not one of the five was hurt in any way and they all survived.
